I got to see and meet Joe Wong at Boston BASIC last year and this guy is unbelievable. He's one of the very few comics I know that takes what is widely considered a "crutch" and turns it into his secret weapon. He doesn't make fun of the "FOB" culture in a sad, pathetic way, but rather uses it to make a commentary about the ridiculousness of American culture.
He's also a nice guy and super humble. I feel lucky to have seen him perform before this.
his jokes are also surprisingly on point, as he criticizes requirements for citizenship, western influence re: tibet, and many topics of relevance. what a baller.
